At some point in your life you have probably wished to be famous, a movie star, singer, athlete and so on. People want the attention, the fame and fortune. However, for most we don’t get the level that we have wished or dreamed about. I for one wanted to play professional sports from an early age, for the longest time that was my goal, my dream and desire. The reality was, I wasn’t good enough, I wasn’t dedicated enough and I didn’t work hard enough.
A lot continue to chase that being famous dream by posting of celebrity encounters, be that of selfies, autographs or stories. We’ve all heard that story of the time your great aunt was at the Kroger and Harrison Ford walked in. I’ve had encounters with famous people and continue to talk to others about celebrities I think it would be cool to meet and talk to. Being a sports fan Ken Griffey Jr and Barry Sanders were my heroes growing up. I got to watch Jr play in person several times but have never got to meet him. As for Barry, one of my greatest moments was getting a retweet and a response from him on Twitter.
The one thing many people fail to realize in chasing their dream of being famous or trying to meet a celebrity is the fact that to someone they are famous. When you step into your parents or grandparents home they light up to see you as you are the one person they want to see. As a parent when you walk through the door and two boys come running at you saying “DADDY”, because to them you are a celebrity and most important person in their life. Stop causing the unattainable and focus on what is in front you. If you don’t then one day you will be that parent / grandparent longing to see your son walk through the door.
To be famous you first have to be you. Never be afraid or ashamed of being you. Be the best you that you can be. And know that to someone you are the most important “celebrity” in their life.
Enjoy your day!
