We recently went on vacation,it was a great time and something we all needed. As a sports family it was our first vacation not sports related in something like six years. From the vacation came pictures and posts and with that came some reflection.
A picture was posted and I got some nice comments about the way I looked. I’ve worked hard to be healthy as I look at family history and heredity and it scares me. Also, I have to admit as a kid growing up I had some self doubt about my looks and what I had to offer.
I saw another picture and that self doubt returned as I felt I looked unhealthy. It was to me a picture of what I’m trying to avoid and not what I want myself to look like. So many others out there have or are experiencing something similar. On the outside everything looks “fine” but on the inside they are unhappy or struggling.
That picture has been saved and something I will look at constantly as a reminder of where I don’t want to be. Progress often comes with speedbumps. How to manage those? Do you take your time and work your way over or do you try to find a way around?
Never stop though! Know that others are ready to work beside you. I love my gym family as we constantly push and uplift each other. I have seen so much growth in our group both physical and mentally. My guy Mark and I have a saying, You can do anything one time!
At times the person you want to do things with or want to hear a compliment from doesn’t happen. Don’t let that derail you! There is always someone watching or cheering you on that you don’t see.
Here’s to making today great! Smile and say Hi to someone today! Give a compliment to another. Build someone up, don’t tear them down. Don’t let a “picture” ruin your day, be willing to take another.
Enjoy your day!
